Privacy policy
Haard knows some of the most personal parts of your family life. We therefore handle them the way you would: carefully, with you in control. Here is what we collect, why, and the rights you have.
Who we are
Haard is a family assistant in development, made in Belgium. For questions about your data, email [email protected]. For anything else, email [email protected].
What data we collect
- Your email address, when you join the waitlist. You provide it yourself.
- Your language choice, stored for 30 days in a strictly necessary functional cookie so Haard can apply your explicit choice on a later visit. The cookie is replaced when you choose another language and is never used for analytics.
- Usage and signup data about how the site is used (pages viewed and clicks), so we can improve it. By default, we use no analytics cookies or local storage: that data is anonymous and tied to the session. When you join the waitlist, we link the confirmed signup, your language, and any answer to the short question after signup to your email address in our analytics so we can measure interest in Haard. We also do this if you decline analytics cookies, but without an analytics cookie or local storage in your browser. If you give permission through the message at the bottom of the page, we place analytics cookies, store your analytics preference in your browser, and may make masked session recordings; you can always decline or withdraw that permission.
We do not need anything else. While Haard is still being built, this is a simple website with a waitlist, no account, and no family data.
How we use it
- To keep you informed about the launch of Haard.
- To understand what works and improve the site.
We never sell your data or show advertising. We plan to earn money from a fair subscription, not from your data.
Our legal basis
We process your email address and the linked confirmed signup, language, and any answer based on your consent: you choose to join the waitlist and thereby let us measure interest in Haard. The functional language cookie is strictly necessary to apply the choice you made yourself, so it does not require separate consent. For cookieless, session-based site analytics, we rely on our legitimate interest in improving the site; we limit that processing by storing nothing in your browser and not linking the data to you as a person. If you allow us to measure a little more with analytics cookies and masked session recordings, we ask for separate consent, which you can always decline or withdraw.
How long we keep it
We keep your email address until launch and for as long as you want to remain on the waitlist. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every email. We keep the linked signup analytics until launch or for no more than 24 months after signup, whichever comes first, and delete them sooner if you ask. The language cookie remains for 30 days, is renewed when you choose a language again, and can always be removed in your browser. We keep other usage data no longer than necessary.
Who we share it with
We work with a small number of carefully selected processors for the waitlist, our emails, and our site and signup analytics. We chose them so your data remains in Europe. Our emails come from [email protected].
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your data and to object to its processing. Simply email [email protected] and we will take care of it. If you disagree with how we handle your data, you can lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority.
Changes
As Haard grows, we will update this policy. The date above shows when it was last changed.
